Less than two weeks left of our season! We have made a few changes to our practice schedule.  One being an early dismissal today.  See below for our upcoming practices and meets:

Wednesday 11/1:  Winterthur  

1:35 Dismissal.  Bus will pick up on the side of the gym at 2:00.  Pick up is at Winterthur. Please enter Gate 2 for pick up.  Please let us know in the Band App if you would like us to arrange a Carpool to get you back to BHS after practice.

Thursday 11/2:  SCHOOL (this is a change to our original schedule)

2:45-4:15

Friday 11/3:  School 2:45-4:15

Saturday 11/4:  The New Castle County Championships at Winterthur

Parking Information:

General Admission Parking is FREE.  Enter Gate 2. Please note it is a

country walk over hilly terrain to the team staging area.

Handicap Parking - Those displaying state-issued Handicap Parking credentials should 

enter Gate 3. Free handicap parking is along the fence near the 1 mile mark on the course.

Preferred Parking is available for $10 per car. Preferred Parking will enter Gate 5 off Rt. 52

and be located near the team staging area. Special hang tag will be sold in advance

only. Anyone not displaying this hang tag will not be permitted into this parking area and will

be directed to the general admission parking. Hang tags will be distributed to coaches on your

assigned practice day. Proceeds from Preferred Parking go to N5CTA.

Please Venmo Coach Flanagan $10 for each pass you order or bring CASH in an envelope 

with your name on it.  I will pick up our passes on 11/1 at our Winterthur practice.

Sunday 11/5:  DAY OF REST

 Only those athletes running States need to come to  practices next week however we would like everyone to attend on Friday as we will have a Team breakfast after practice.

We are looking in to carpooling to the Brandywine Creek on Monday and Tuesday so the kids don't have to get out of school early.  

Monday 11/6:  Brandywine Creek  

Tuesday 11/7:  Brandywine Creek 

Wednesday 11/8:  School

Thursday 11/9:  School

Friday 11/10  Brandywine Creek in the morning  8:00-10:00

Saturday 11/11:  STATES at Brandywine Creek  BHS is Division 2

Event Schedule

Division I Girls 1:00 pm

There is NO BUS.  Girls should arrive at the park no later than 11:30.  Boys arrive by NOON as there will be traffic getting into the park.  Bring PLENTY OF LAYERS and blankets!  We will have our tent set up along the Rock Wall.

Thanks so much to everyone who pitched in to help at Thursday's Joe O'Neill Invitational.  I could not have pulled it off without all your help.  We had over 1000 athletes cross the finish line, so many Bulldog PR's, and our concessions and shirt sales were a success!

It's hard to believe that we are in the final stretch of our season.  See below for our upcoming schedule:

Girls: 4:00 pm

Awards: 4:45pm  Top 15 finishers make the All Conference Team

We are selling shirts (only 50) and running a very low key concessions.  We don't need any donations as we are selling the leftover candy and drinks and we have a volunteer picking up pretzels.  We DO need a few parents to help work shirts/concessions.  Please let us know if you are available.  Thanks!!

BHSXC Schedule Updates

Hi Everyone,

Below is our schedule for the next two weeks.  We are hosting a HUGE invitational on Thursday 10/19 at Bellevue and will need parents to donate items for the snack bar, sell shirts and concessions, and help with set-up and clean-up.  Click HERE to help.

With the expected heavy RAIN on Saturday, we have decided to move the scavenger hunt to FRIDAY.  It will be after our workout, therefore, practice will end later.

The bus will pick up athletes on the side of the gym at 2:30.  There is NO RETURN BUS!  

Parents must pick up athletes at Bellevue  by 5:00-5:15

Saturday 9/23-Sunday 9/24:  NO PRACTICE  We would like athletes to run ONE of the two days.  If there is a break in the rain, get outside.  Or if you have access to a treadmill or stationary bike, please move your body on ONE of the two days. JV 30min/Var 45-60

Monday 9/25:  No School.  NO PRACTICE.  Please run 30-40 easy run on your own.

Gait Analysis at Omega PT

 Hi Everyone.

Omega PT has scheduled our Gait Analysis for Monday 9/18/23 from 5:00-6:00pm.  We will be practicing at the school that day and will end in plenty of time for those who have signed up to get there. 

The following athletes have signed up.  I need to send Omega contact information for the parents so a consent form can be signed prior to the analysis.  Since consent form will be signed, parents do not have to attend but they are absolutely welcome to.  Brandywine is not involved in this screening and will NOT be providing transportation.

Message from Unionville Meet Director

 Hi Everyone!

Tomorrow's meet is going forward as scheduled at Unionville High School.  See message from Meet Director below.  If you have any concerns about your athlete participating, please send me a message in the Band app.

Coaches:

The meet is taking place at Unionville High School as scheduled.

 

Unionville High School is back in session and had after school activities yesterday and a full school day today.  I will be on campus by 6am Saturday and I am not concerned.  We will be safe on Saturday.

 

Law enforcement and the Unionville administration have declared our district safe.

 

Police perimeter is in the southeastern portion of our district (8-10 square mile area). Unionville HS is 3 miles from closest part of the perimeter.   

 

PSP says “no problem” if we want to host the event. Could be some minor traffic issues with road closures - plan ahead

 

Mushroom festival (10 000+ people, also about 2 miles from the perimeter) is ON in Kennett on Saturday

 

We had a safe and successful day of in-person school in all of our buildings today. And our buildings will remain open tomorrow. 

 

Lots of fun at the races Saturday and the campus opens at 6:45am (we need the weather to cooperate):

- light concessions

- Phila Runner tent and they will have a prize pack for the fastest male and female on the day

- medal tent for the top 25 in every race

- trophies to the top 2 teams (determined by the top place from each class) - boys and girls are separate

- backpacks for the winning team on each side
