Thanks to everyone for making yesterday's meet such a huge success. We had parents setting up, working concessions, selling shirts, helping in the chute, cleaning up. We could not have done it without you!

Thursday Announcements

THE SUN WILL COME OUT TOMORROW...but today we are canceling practice.

Some reminders for tomorrow's meet:
** DRESS WARMLY! Pack an extra pair of shoes.
** We will be camping out in the pavilion to the left after you cross the bridge.
** If you are wearing tights or a shirt under your uniform, make sure they are solid BLACK
** Dismissal tomorrow is at 1:30. Bus leaves BHS at 1:45. There is NO return bus. Parents will pick up at the park.
** Please read the previous post for info on T-shirt sales.

T-Shirts for the Joe O'Neill Invitational

If you would like to purchase your t-shirt in advance, please bring $15 to practice tomorrow. Cash or Checks made out to Brandywine Cross Country :)

If we end up canceling practice due to inclement weather, you can email Coach Flanagan at pooh1932@comcast.net and we will reserve the size you need.

We are still collecting 12 ounce Gatorade donations and 16 ounce Water cases. You can drop them off to Peggy McCoy: 2011 Dogwood Lane Foulk Woods.

Week of 10/10/10

Hi Everyone!
We had a BEAUTIFUL day for our trip to NY. Thanks to all the parents who made the trip with us. Over 500 teams competed on Saturday....over 9,000 athletes crossed the finish line!

I updated our Results Sheet and also converted the times so athletes can see their average mile and their 5K calculation (click on links to the right)

Joe O'Neill Invitational Concessions Update

Hi Everyone,
The Joe O'Neill Invitational is just a week away! This is a huge fundraiser for our team. We are asking parents for donations of water and Gatorade to sell in the concessions stand. Please bring either a 12 pack of Gatorade or a Case of water to practice pick-up this week.

Gatorade
We are looking for the 12 ounce size of Gatorade. They sell them at Target: 12 pack for 5.99.

Water
16 ounce bottles (any brand will do)

We're looking to charge $1 for drinks which is why we need to be consistent with sizes :)

Aside from donations, we will need parents to help in the concessions, t-shirt sales, results/awards, and finish line areas.

Wednesday Reminders

Although we lost both meets today, we had some outstanding performances by our bulldogs! I updated both results sheets so you can see the improvement :)

Hi Everyone!

We had two great races last week. It was nice to see so many parents at Rockford Park and The Creek. Thanks to the Andreas family for providing pretzels and oranges after our Wednesday meet. We FINALLY got some beautiful Fall weather (Right now, it's not so beautiful).

A quick peek at this week's schedule

Today (Monday): Practice at Bellevue (we'll put everyone's bookbags in my van to keep them dry)

Tuesday: Practice at Bellevue

Wednesday: Meet with Concord and Middletown at Bellevue.

Boys race will start at approximately 3:30 with the girls following at 3:35.

Thursday: Practice at Bellevue 9AM

Chick-Fil-A Fundraiser at the Concord Mall: 6pm-9pm (printable coupons are on the right of the blog...you need to present the coupon for BHSXC to get the credit)

Friday: NO PRACTICE....light running and stretching on your own

Saturday: Manhattan Invitational!!! Bus leaves BHS at 5:30 AM

Now that the weather has turned cooler, please pack sweatpants and sweatshirts to wear at practice.

Sallies Invitational UPDATE

There is NO bus to the Creek for the Sallies Invitational. Athletes must arrive 90 minutes before their scheduled race (Freshmen boys may arrive at 11:45).

Look for our white tent along the Rock Wall up the hill from the Starting Line :)

Hi Everyone,
We made the decision to CANCEL the CAR WASH that was scheduled for this Sunday. Too many kids are going to be away and we know from past experience that we need at least 20 bodies to make a car wash successful.

We still have the Chick-Fil-A Spirit Night scheduled for this Thursday October 7th. You can download and print the coupons with the link on the right.
