Practice Schedule: August 29th- September 5th

Hi Everyone!
Congrats for making through the first two weeks of XC!  Already, we can see improvement in your fitness levels.  Keep working hard in practice and you will continue to see results :)

See below for our practice schedule for the week:

**  For school days when we practice at the Creek or Bellevue:  Practice bus will pick you up on the side of the gym between 2:30-2:45.  Bus will return to school after practice.  If you drive to school, you may drive yourself (and your siblings) to the park.  Everyone else please ride the practice bus.


Monday 8/29:  School
Meet on the track at 2:45.  Practice will end by 4:15

Tuesday 8/30:  Bellevue **


Wednesday 8/31:  Bellevue **

Thursday 9/1:  Scrimmage for Cancer at Banning Park.  Click HERE for directions to the Park.
Dismissal Time: 2:10pm
Depart Time: 2:30pm
Depart Location: BHS Gym
Return Time: 4:45pm
Return Location: Banning Park
Est Return to School: 5:15pm

Boys Race:  3:45     Girls' Race 4:15

Friday 9/2:  Run 30-40 minutes on your own Friday and join us for a 
Pool Party at Graylyn Crest Pool
Time:  5:00-7:30
The pool is located on Marsh Road between Silverside and Harvey.  It's just past Branmar Plaza on the left  hand side.  If you are coming from Harvey Rd. the pool is about half a mile from Papa Johns on the right.  

Saturday 9/3: Practice will be at Brandywine Creek State Park at 8:30.  We will meet in the Hawk Watch parking lot (the first right after passing toll booth).  Click HERE for directions to the park.

Sunday 9/4:  NO PRACTICE  Run on your own. 
See below for Sunday guidelines:
For my brand new beginners: try to run/walk for 20-35 minutes. 

For everyone else: Sunday is a great day to get in a LONGER run.  A nice relaxed pace. 
45-70 minutes.  

If you have been running everyday this summer, shoot for 60-70.  For everyone else 45.


Monday 9/5:  LABOR DAY 
NO PRACTICE:  Please run on your own
20-35 minutes for beginners
40-60 minutes for everyone else


Be sure to tell all your friends that it is NOT TOO LATE to join the Cross Country Team!  I would LOVE for all of you to bring 1 or 2 friends to practice next week!

We're off to a great start!

Hi Everyone,
We've had a great two days of practice.  Just a few reminders for the rest of the week:
  • Bring a Towel or Yoga mat to practice each day for core exercises
  •  Bring a Water Bottle (preferably a reusable one :))
  • Stay HYDRATED throughout the day.  The heat wave will continue for the next week.
  • BRING A FRIEND to Practice!!  We are still looking for new runners.  No Experience necessary!

All practices will run from 8:30-10:15.  Please try to be on time when picking up your athletes.  We will not leave anyone alone in the park.

Monday through Friday:  Bellevue State Park
Turn into the main parking lot.  We meet by the picnic tables next to the track ( near the bathrooms)

Next Week's Schdule

Hi Everyone!
It was great to see so many of you at last night's meeting.  Sorry for the mix-up with today's administration day.  The wrong time for XC was published on bulldogssports.com.  Hopefully, everyone got the message that it was actually 10:30 (not 1;30).

Remember, you need to have a current physical dated AFTER April 1, 2016 in order to practice.  Please email me if you have any questions.  There is information on the Wellness Center and several Walk-In clinics HERE

We are still looking for new Runners!  Bring a Friend to Practice!

One Week from Today!

Hi Everyone!
Our first XC practice is ONE WEEK away!  We are looking forward to seeing all of you!  See below for some announcements about the coming week:

Cross Country athletes must have a physical registered with the school nurse in order to participate in athletics.  Click HERE for information on Sports Physicals

Thursday August 11
 - Meet the Coaches Night will be held in the auditorium at 6:30pm . All players, coaches, and parents are expected to attend this important meeting. 

Friday August 12 - Administrtion Day
                              Cross Country 10:30
XC athletes must report to the school to turn in physicals and fulfill any obligation.

Monday August 15 - The first official day of practice. 

Practice will begin on Monday, August 15, 8:30 a.m. at Bellevue State Park. We meet at the picnic tables near the barn, track and the bathrooms. Practice will typically last 1.5 - 2 hours. We will not leave anyone alone at the park so a prompt pick-up (ride should be back at park by 10:15) is greatly appreciated!  The first two weeks of practice will be at Bellevue State Park Monday - Friday and Saturdays at Brandywine Creek State Park

State park stickers can be purchased at State Park offices during regular business hours. It is well worth purchasing a sticker as many practices and most meets are at state parks. Fee period is in effect through the entire XC season!
